A call sustained over time

Nuh called his people to worship Allah, seek forgiveness, and reflect on creation. He describes speaking openly and privately while many persisted in refusal.

Nine hundred and fifty years

The Qur’an says he remained among his people for a thousand years less fifty. This is the duration stated in that account, not a complete birth-to-death chronology.

Building under ridicule

He was instructed to build the ark under divine guidance. As his people mocked him, he continued the task. The account describes those who believed boarding with him.

A son who would not board

Nuh called to his son, who sought safety on a mountain instead. The waves separated them. The response to Nuh’s plea shows that family ties do not replace faith and responsibility.

After the waters

The ark came to rest on al-Judi. Nuh and those with him were addressed with peace and blessings. His wife is separately mentioned as an example of disbelief; the text does not describe this as sexual infidelity.

A grateful servant remembered

Nuh is remembered as a grateful servant. The verse addresses descendants of those carried with him, placing the ark account within the memory and responsibility of later generations.

Counsel as death approached

A separate hadith collection records Nuh counselling an unnamed son about devotion, praise of Allah, and avoiding association and arrogance. The report supplies neither a death date nor a grave location.
