Adam & a new beginning

Allah taught Adam the names and commanded the angels to prostrate to him. Iblis refused out of pride. Adam and his spouse were tempted, disobeyed, and then sought forgiveness. Allah accepted Adam’s repentance. Their story connects responsibility with the possibility of returning to Allah after a mistake.

Responsibility and a return

Read Adam’s story in both Al-Baqarah and Al-Araf. The linked story expands the account into chapters about learning, temptation, accountability, and repentance.

Follow the evidence

The prophet profile separates what is stated in scripture from historical reports and uncertain family details. It is a useful starting point for exploring the wider family tree.
